what ratio are you'll mixing in your LT80s also what does it mean when you are having white smoke instead of blue? I am trying to go from a self mix to a premix.

The color prolly has to do either with the kind of oil or the mix ratio.

 

thanks alot can you tell be what the carb. screw on the right side needs to be set out from flush position Since I had this thing worked on it aint running right.

 

That screw does nothing but set the idle.

 

alright I have it all changed over and a mixture of 32:1 It still is smoking like crazy. I just had a new top end done. Also when you pat the gas it runs good but when you punch it or hold it at a steady speed it shuts off. Then is kinda hard to restart I havent changed the jetting why is it doing this?

 

What do you mean:"new top end"?
You just had it bored out? Anything else?

 

I just got a new piston, rings, wristpin bearing and wristpin.

 

I think this problem is in the carb. Have you cleaned it?

 

I haven't cleaned it. The cable that runs in the top of the carb broke right before the rebuild so while I had the top off I sprayed wd 40 in there should I unscrew the top and spray carb.cleaner down it or do I have to take it all apart. I really appreciate your help LT80 Last night it was running ok but still shut off when you held the throttle down did really good if your patted it

 

sounds like you are running lean. have you done anything to the filter or could it be sucking air from someplace. i replaced the filter on our eton with a uni and did not rejet. it did the exact same thing untill i rejetted it.
