Need advice on new tires for scrambler 400
#1
I'm wanting to buy new tires for my scrambler 400. I ride hardpack trails, country roads both blacktop and gravel, mud and creeks. I'm wanting to stay with the stock tire size and don't want a real heavy tire either. What do you guys recommend?

I like the mudlites (see my pics) . 6 ply. All around awesome. the 489's aren't bad. THe mudlites are cheap and crawl over everything. Beware, becuase they like to 'throw' things.

If you only do occasional mud, you might want something less agressive than the Mudlites - like the Holeshot ATR radials

The mudlites are misnamed. They are awesome all around tires. THey bite in anything from muddy trails, to gravel, to sand, to rocky hills, to hard pack, to mud pits. They are light and great priced.
I have gone through stuff that afterwards I thought, did I really need the tires? WEll, it was the tires that made it go through so easily!

Guys...this is for the 400....he does'nt need a tall, heavy, 4X4 tire. I recommend a set of 22" Bandit XC....they are only 20.5" tall and kevlar belted. They are an awesome trail tire that likes too slide, can make it's way through some mud too, and wears good. I would put 20" 6 ply holeshots up front. Stay clear of the Bandit front tires.....too much contact patch has you wallowing all over the trails. After my rear Shredders wear out, a set of rear Bandits will be in their place (would like too try fast trekkers too).
