if the pipe is the first thing i get for the z, and i get a ct sonic 40 hp + pipe, will that run ok until i do other mods to get it up over 40 hp? it said they had a pipe for 34-40hp and one for 40+. i plan on doing over all, over a long time, getting a lot of parts for it, so unitl i do that, will the 40 + pipe be ok?

40 HP??? I find that hard to belive. CT were also the ones that had the 60 HP raptor pipe. dont belive everything you hear or read. all of the pipes for the Z put out around the same power, all within a HP of each other.

nonono, it said the pipe was made for a quad that was 40 hp and bigger, it didnt say the pipe added the hp to get up to 40. so i was wondering, if i get the pipe that is designed for 40 and bigger, will it run ok until my quad is over 40 hp?

oh, ok. i wouldn't chance it, you would be just as happy with just the normal CT pipe. I think its probly just like a sales gimik and there probly isn't much difference in them. but i dont see why it wouldn't work, unless it had something to do with back pressure or porting.

when im done fixing up the z i will have quite a bit of money into it and i want the best pipe, thats y im so concerned about the special 40 + pipe, i just didnt want to ruin anything or run crappy until i get the parts to make it over 40

I would buy the standard pipe for now, cause it'll work with many of the minor mods you'll be doing first. And when you do get to the point that you need the bigger pipe, sell the old one and you'll only be paying 300 bucks or so for the 40+ pipe. To much pipe equals lossed power.
