Warrior jetting
#1
i am new to this forum. I am a recent quad enthusiast (two years). I love my warrior, even though its an old design, and almost everything today can beat it. but i am trying to enjoy what i've got. I have a 2001 warrior. i just put a Yoshi comp series slip-on on, and a pro design filter kit with the foam filter. i plan to run without the airbox lid on. the stock air filter setup SUCKS!! anyway, i want to know how to jet the stock carb. any ideas on main jet for it? do i have to change anything else? I also have an edelbrock carb on order, but i might not have it ready for this weekend. We are heading to the U.P. of michigan this weekend. So i might have to play with the stock carb. any jetting ideas would be helpful. thanks Yoshwarrior

It depends on your altitude compared to sea level but I'm at around 1200 feet above sea level and my wifes warrior with a K&N filter modded lid and WB slip on runs a 150 main jet. I had to adjust the clip on the needle as well but I can't remember where we left it. The best bet you can do is do an advanced search on the forum for the words warrior and jet. You will get alot of good info... try to find someone with a similiar setup and altitude that had success and use their jet size first. I think you will find most run a 150 main... just getting the needle right may be a pain.

I am also running a 150 main, with the 4th position on needle, and 3 1/4 turns out on the air mixture screw. I am running the same setup with a k&n at around 700ft, but i am running rich in the mid range and need to play with my needle setting again. My top end with the 150 in good though. I love carb tunning j/k
