Default 1999 suzuki 500 quadrunner 4x4

I am looking into buying a used quadrunner. I would like to get some feedback form current owners. I drove the bike and noticed the steering was a bit harder to turn than my Yamaha. I was told it was harder to turn because this unit is full time four wheel drive. I am intending on using it a deer lease where ther is quite a bit of mud and water. Does anyone have any comments on this unit and how it would work in these conditions?

The Quad runner 500 4x4s are good dependable ATVs. I have one I bought new in 99.

The things I do not like
-The steering is quite heavy, even with stock tires. This is due to the full time 4wd and the design of the limited slip front diff .
-No locker.
-The ground clearance under the rearend and footpegs is too low, even with a lift to make it a competitive mudder.
-The bike is notorious for breaking a coupler in the rear diff, because if a poor seal design (lets water in). It happened to me. Cost about $65.00 to fix.

Things I do like
-Good front disk brakes.
-Unbelievable torque, will pull 28" tires bone stock with ease.
-Great turning radius
-Factory aluminum wheels
-Hi/Lo range
-Always starts and runs like it is new

If you can get it for a reasonable price, you will not regret it. This bike is a real workhorse.

I got 99 500 right now the rear coupler is brokin again, I am going to upgrade to the 2001 design cost 350.00 for all the parts. I have pulled 16ft lowboy trailer with anouth 500 4x4 and two sport 4wheelers no problem, and pulled out 1ton dodge desiel 4x4 stuck to the axles (first time I broke coupler).
