I think it is going to depend on the dyno that you use. My builder here on his dyno gets 49-55 depending on fuel. I have everything done execpt big values and mine reads 47.5hp. No way is big values going to give you 10hp. That is why my 720 will be started on Mon.

My stage 3 dynoed between 58 and 63 depending on the air temp and humidity. Thats big valves and good porting.

When I was down at Ron Woods last year (October 2002), I spoke with him and he showed me a bunch of dyno sheets from a Stage 3 kit.
The sheets showed from 63 to 69 hp (tuning differences).

I didn't like that the power was all at the top end, however.
I prefer more torque for my rides.

kehale,

Agreed. It's ALL top end. My buddy has a Stage III and let me ride it again recently. It still has torque but I prefer bottom to mid. I'll see if I can get him when I get my motor back.

Man, that sure is some high #s for a stage 3..I wonder if that was on the bottle [nos] my old stage 3 was never dynoed but I had ALOT of torque..But the cams has alot to do with it..[woods 11 cams i think ] the smaller cams that i was running made the torque.
I guess it all depends on what dyno you use..

I am pretty sure you can ask for your own preffered cam size, depending on what kind of rideing you do....I.M.O.-longer duration cams make torque, bigger higher lift cams are good for flat drags and for making good power at higher rpms..I am still in the process of trying to figure out what is ultimately the best for hill shooting.

My buddy has gotten his around 2001-2000 (He owns a 2000 DS) and wonders the same thing. What kind of cams did he get with his. He is ALL about drag racing and is considering a 13:1 piston and bigger lift cams.
