Default Question about getting stator rebuilt....

Hummm. don't know to tell you the truth. You could try http://www.rickystator.com/ maybe they could rewind it for you. Know clue how expensive that would be though.
The part number for the new magneto is 711 295 172 call your dealer and see what they want for a new one also. That way you can decide what way to go.
How did you fry the one you have?

Default Question about getting stator rebuilt....

Thanks. A new stator from Bombardier is $490 and their is no way in hell that I'm gonna pay that kinda $$ for a stator. The thing is, I relized my battery wasn't charging.... This was quite a while ago so I replaced the voltage regulator right after with no luck. So I tested things out and I found that there was NO charge comming from the stator, ZERO volts! SO I have been riding since the end of last winter without turning on any lights and charging my battery every couple days.... Only need the power to crank the motor and run the ignition. the reason I havent done anything is because of the price of a stator, which is rediculus!! But I heard about stators getting rebuilt, and winter is comming up and I ride A LOT at night in the winter so I need power for my lights and I'm sick of this problem and just for convieniance..

I have NO IDEA why there is no charge comming from my stator but I want it fixed. So I plan on taking it apart and getting the stator tested and whatever is wrong with it getting it fixed! I know where i can get it tested but I have no idea how to get it rebuilt..... I guess I'll have to call rickystator to see, but ANY ideas of what to do please give them!! Thanks.

Default Question about getting stator rebuilt....

Hey pushin if you have a factory service manual it will have the ohm specs and which leads to test...otherwise maybe someone can offer that info up for you...the people at Rickey Stator are honest and are not there to get every dollar you have...they may have the specs also

My problem turned out to be the battery!! I replaced it highly doubting it was the problem, and well I been riding it since with no problems.
