Ok... right now i have a 142 (dynojet) in my stock bike with K&N air filter. After reading the instructions of the dynojet kit, it said for stage 2, run with the airbox lid off and go to a 165 main (for my elevation and exhaust). I have some holes drilled in my airbox lid, and i have a 142 main dynojet in. i checked the plug and it looked normal, but i feel like i've actually lost power. Today i raced my friend on his 360+ cc warrior with alot of performance parts on it, and i only beat him by a quad length. My stock bike (before the jetkit and K&N stuff) could beat him by about 2 and 1/2 quad lengths, and he didn't do any mods to his quad, plus I can almost feel the power loss.. soon i am going to get a pipe (next few months), but what should i do until then? go to a 165 main? if the holes in the airbox are not precicsley positioned could i be loosing power? I WANT MY POWER BACK! I paid 140 for some K7N atv power kit that made my bike slower!! that's messed up! but anyways, help would be appreciated.

Go get yourself a new airbox lid from MAC they cost around $6 and $3 for the seal. Do not drill holes all over the lid. Drill the holes on the top right side (looking from behind) opposite the filter. Hakmazter taught me this trick and it worked. Drilling holes all over the lid will create turbulence inside.

also, how big, and what shape should the holes be?

could i order the airbox cover from honda? would it be more expensive? like, from a dealer.

Chuck, you're a pretty good artist. Not bad! Anyway, I think once the answer comes in, a lot of people would be interested in it. I know drilling holes in the lid is a science. I would never try it, but your posting may answer a lot of people's questions. Good idea with the schematic.

This is my third airbox lid pattern and the best so far with torque and top end. The first and second were with holes all around.
