I have made my mind up what kind of Rancher I am going to get the Rancher 4x2. It's just I don't know if I should get the ES or S. I heard the ES has problems sometimes with moisture in the shifter and then stop working, but the ES get the full floorboards, LCD, and the cooling fan. If all you guys out there that have the ES or S let me now which is the best to buy.

I had the same decision to make!? I decided on the Rancher ES 4x2. I have a 97 Recon and a 97 Kawasaki Lakota, so I'm used to and like the manual shift, auto clutch. But after riding the ES for about three hours so far ( Just bought one Saturday! ) I LOVE it! I'd say for the extra $200, which I did not have to pay, the dealer gave me the ES for the same price as the S ( $4399.00) you get the floor boards, cooling fan, and a NEAT LCD. The great thing about the LCD is you always know the gear your in from the display. That's alot of features for $200.00! Wherever you get it, try to bargain, they should budge a little. Jeff

I think the rumors of the shifting problem with the ES was started by other manufacturers. L

40 plus hours & over 300 miles no problems, at all, well actually one, I had a rivet pop loose only because I kissed a tree with the tail end of the quad.

Mudding - No problem
stream crossing - No problems
