Here ya go.
Here are the rod weights. Gram for Gram Titanium is 4 times stronger than steel. Hope this helps. Zombie

Ti 254.3
Stock 350.0
Carillo 445.3

Make- Carillo I think
Sell- Craycraft
There's alot of 12:1 stock rod engines out there, most of the Texans run that set up.

I'm running a 12:1 686 with the stock rod, stock '01 trans, and clutch basket. So far so good. If it holds together till March I'll upgrade with the '02 trans and carrillo rod. I'll probably have it lightened.

Mr45auto, thanks for the reply, glad your riding on the edge, just don't fall off, LOL...
Most engine builders told me even the 11:1 piston I am using is stressing the stock rod too much. I will try the 12:1 stock or slight overbore piston with a ported/polished head & maybe selected bigger valves & see how she holds up. If it makes it thru the year I will tear into the bottom & replace the '01 tranny & stock rod as well. Sounds like the Texan crowd likes that setup, aluminum piston/stock rod revs faster, so I hear....
By the way, are you talking about having the Carillo rod lightened? How about spending the extra cash for the ti rod?
