I was wondering if i removed the spark aressor on my 400ex and replaced it with a tip that had the same deminsions as the one on there now if it would hurt anything? I started the quad up with out the spark arrestor on there and it sounded a whole lot better. I don't have enough money to buy an aftermarket sysytem right now. Also, is there any cheaper modifacations that i can do that will increase performance. Any information will be greatly aprciated.

 

i pull the tip off the end of the muffler and drilled the weildes off the fire skern and pull it off and cut the baffle off and clean the tip and drilled 8 new holes around the tip put on the fire skern back on and poprivitde it on and thats it and it"s all good and faster
