I don't think it will be knocking for long. You just Hydrolocked a Cyl. Sorry dude your engine is probibly toast.

The engine seems to run fine though, do you think it is still toast? I mean I've driven it for a while, can't seem to find any damage other than the knocking noise.

My guess is that you bent a connecting rod... that's the weak point. Water doesn't compress as well as air!! Knocking noises means bad news.

dang, that sucks. my guess is it mooshed the rod bearings and they gradually got worse with their new free play. Im just guessing though lol, I dont know alot about messin up car engines, I been sticken to messin up quad engines. Should check your airbox though to see just how much watter it sucked up.

Any engine that really gets a load of water in it typically has at least a couple of bent rods. Actually you probably didn't get too much water in the cylinders because it's still running! I've seen engines flat come apart after a little deep water diving!

have u changed the oil since running her throught the water. this could buy you some time. or it could cure the knock. depending on how much water and where the water went could be the big factors on the knock. does it seem to be top/ or bottom end?

Friend of mine said it sounds more like a valve tap than a knock, sounds like a tltltltltltltl, almost like a baseball card against the spokes of a bicycle. Any ideas guys. Oh and yeah I changed the oil. Still makes the noise
