I got a look at the repo Yamaha Kodiak
#1
Well I just got back from my trip to the US and I sold my quad 10 mins after I got home hahaha. Was asking 1500 and I got 1300 so I'm pretty happy about that.
Anyway....now I want another machine!
I looked at the 2002 Kodiak and it just makes you want to cry.
1. It was kept outside all its life so it has a case of the rusties
2. They repainted the racks and rims and there is overspray all over the plastic and around the tires
3. Racks are all twisted.....the front push bar is bent all to hell
4. There is mega play in the steering bars...appears to be all in the steering stem
5. Key ignition seems to be seized so they ran a nasty toggle swtch out the side *cringe*
6. The noise in the front end seems to be a bad axle
7. Have to boost it to start it
8. Not a brake on it!!!!!!!!!!!
After saying all that, it runs like a champ. It has plenty of power and the 4X4 switch works great. The plastic has no cracks and I think I could buff off the over spray with some rubbing compound but I'm not sure. I need a new push bar but the racks and rims could be media blasted and repainted properly. Most of the problems seem to be minor and cosmetic. To drive it I would have to replace and axle, put on some brakes and get some new tires....everything else can be fixed as I go.
How much should I bed? How much would one go for in good condition?
Thanks for the help guys
