Default Newbie questions on springs and jets

Hi,

Just got a new V about a month ago and want to start modding it. Most of the riding we do is in the dunes so that is the way I want to mod it. I have read alot on here about the springs mainly the pink spring.
1st- Can someone explain to me what the numbers mean on the springs (i.e. 20/140)?

2nd- Will the pink spring help a stock V and also in the near future we are going to get dual pipes (probably DMC), will the pink spring be ok with these pipes? (Don't forget most riding is done in the dunes so if there is another spring better for the dunes let me know)

3rd- Do you have to rejet if you put dual pipes on? I assume no jetting for just a spring change right?

4th and last- After dual pipes are installed, does modding the airbox really help? Can you drill holes in the box for more air or do you have to run a K&N to get better airflow?

Thanks for all the help and if any of you are in the amargosa or dumont area let me know. I am in vegas. Maybe we can meet up sometime.

Default Newbie questions on springs and jets

From what I read on other posts:
1. The spring numbers are the forces they push at 2.5" and at 1.25" The higher the force, the higher you RPM will be at takeoff and before shiftout.
2. Pink spring helps stock V. It isn't overly aggressive, just helps high speed performance. No jetting needed.
3. Probably need to rejet for pipes. Dual pipes are a must.
4. Modding the airbox and getting a K&N really do make a big difference. KevinM added a second snorkle. He had to go up many jet sizes, and has a whole lot more power. Power comes in handy on sand.

I don't have a V-force, but those were easy questions.
