Default 2003 500i manual false neutral

Has anybody arrived at a fix for the shifting problems of the 500i manual where during an aggressive upshift the transmission ends up in neutral usually half a gear past the desired gear? I have read that placing a washer(spacer) on the shifter shaft behind the right side trans cover cures the problem but I have not been able to find the exact proceedure nor a report from someone who has actually done this.Enquiries to AC by my dealer have not helped so far.

Mine does this also. The Vinson manuals are also doing it. There is no fix for this yet that I have seen. Suzuki would be the ones to ask for a fix as they are the manufacturers. Good luck getting any help from AC. The washer on the shifter did not seem to work for most. Keep us posted if you find a fix.

i had that happen a few times but since i cut off the heal kicker it hasent done it.
maybe the heal kicker dosent let it push down far enuff thus finding that false neutral.
ac sells a toe shifter for them maybe try one of them or you can cut it off like i did and if that dont work you can always weld it back on.
i havent had it happen since.
and with the toe shifter it seems to shift faster and smoother.
its somthing to think about.
