Is it possible to join a Honda 450 cylinder to a Rancher bottome end?
#1
I have a 2001 Rancher ES that runs fine. I want to know if a 450 cylinder/piston/head could be attached to the 350 Crankcase? the stroke is the same for both(68mm) I've looked at the drawings on rivaracing.com and the gaskets look similar, and the oil passages appear to line up. but would it work? would the 350 crank stand up to the bigger bore?
If that's not possible.... could I mate a 450 engine to my existing rancher transmission? I like the gears in my bike, great low 1st gear, and faster than a 450 Foreman. I know there's a bigbore kit from Highlifter but bringing it to Canada, and doing the engine work will put me over a grand. and I just might want to make a 500 Rancher some day!
any help or comments would be appreciated.
thanks, Mark.
