yfz shocks on Raptor
#4
My husband and I are thinking about doing this exact thing. He races a lot and wants aftermarket shocks for the yfz (I would get the yfz shocks for the rappy). We have done some side by side comparison and it looks like the yfz shocks should bolt right on to the raptor with out any problems, as long as you are using the stock a-arms. The stock yfz shocks look like they are a bit shorter than the raptor shocks but it looks like it should work. Besides, just about any shocks are better than the stock rappy shocks so it can't make it any worse.
There are lots of parts that are interchangeable between the raptor and yfz. When the old man gets new stuff, I get the hand-me-downs for the raptor and so far, most of it has fit with no problem. However, I could be wrong since we haven't actually attempted the change yet.

You will have to grind the top bracket for the shock and the bottom part of the shock to get it to fit in the bracket. I just did it this weekend and tested them out. It is a big difference over the stock raptor shocks, I like it. My raptor sits 1/2 lower in front with the yfz shocks on.
