Default 20 hrs for valves???

Happen to call Bob Craycraft about what exhaust I might want to be ordering and we got to talking about several other things (really nice guy) and I asked about valves.... and how often to adjust. He replied 20 hrs, I was told 100-150 hrs... now being such a huge difference, that really raised an eyebrow... thats a lot of work to do every oil change (20 is what I was told for that). I was wondering how often you all do yours, I would like to keep this motor for as long as possible, I love my raptor!!!

I check the intakes about every 10 or 15 hrs. they tend to tighten up and I wouldn't suggest letting them go much past 20 hrs. The exhaust has not needed to be readjusted since I set them after break in.

He was saying something about the valve seats getting messed up or something.... what exactly happens to them as the hours get put on and how does that lead to a problem/what damage??

They get tight and will start to burn and damage the valve and seat if not kept adjusted properly.
