Default Two stroke oil pump setting?

Wondering how to check the setting on my 94 400 l ?
It smokes like crazy...I'm running Amsoil synthetic.I have the cover off,and the free play looks ok.The manual I have is very vague on which marks to use for alignment. The mark on the movable arm is fairly easy to see,but the one on the body is a problem.
Thanks for any info!

You know I have a 98 scrambler 400 and I switched to pennzoil synthetic, and it started smoking alot. Maybe it has something to do with the syntetic oil. I just switched back to regular oil. I think you loosen the cable for less oil.

The line or mark on the casing is pretty thin and small. It's actually on the pump body itself. The first mark on the moveable piece lines up as soon as the slide starts moving. The second mark is supposed to line up at full throttle. Good luck.
