OMG the freacken tree hugers are taking over!!! The starting of Comp Hill has a fense around it now so it REALLY sucks!!! hopfully somebody has taken it down by now.....

Do you mean the island in the center of the bowl is fenced off? There used to be fences there to keep people from climbing up into the trees and along most of the South East dune boundary but it has slowly fallen apart overthe years. Hopefullly they are just replacing some of the old fences and not creating new fenced off areas.

i was at florence last weekend and i saw what you are talking about and it looks more like an attempt to discourage people from racing because it basically blocks off the starting point that has been there for years.i am not pleased with the placement of the fence myself but this may be a good excuse to find another place to drag race that is a bit longer and could give a better chance to show what your quad can really do.i have occasionally raced just west of comp hill about 100 to 150 yards starting at what would be about the halfway point up comp hill and heading south from that point about 300 yards to finish at the top of the hill and it provides a good launch and a longer distance to race .if you are used to racing up comp hill at florence you may want to try this instead ,it provides a much better platform to show what your sand toy of choice is capable of.IMO

 

Duneitt has got a good point but thats still crap ! We should just start launching up further and make a new starting hill. If we rip down the fences it will just get worse so thats kinda out of the picture. We do need a longer racing hill there though. Duneitt Im gonna be at florence the 23rd to the 26th (next weekend thursday to sunday)

 

we almost got it down but then people started showing up, its really crapy, becuase the sand is so soft and now you have to start up hill almost

I agree with the others, we need a bigger and longer hill to race up....comp hill was great and i love it but i think it is to short!!!!! We all need to get calvin pissing on tree huggers!!!!! i'll be getting one on my truck!!!! they do this to all the off road clubs!!!!! they SUCK!
