horsepower for 03 raptor?

My Wife came up to me after Memorial Day weekend and said, "I want more power." Of course, I couldn't have been happier.
I knew if I got a pipe and filter she would probably be happy so. . . I went with a mild 686 knowing that would be all she would ever need. Stage 1 cam and 10.75:1 piston (most call it an 11:1 piston). It is still good for trails but, she doesn't have to worry about getting beaten at the hill!
I had the port work done at the same time also but, kept the stock valves and valve springs (since mild cam.)
What do you want the power for? Dunes? Drags? What is most of your riding? Trails, woods, drags, dunes, etc.?

If you can do the labor I would expect about $1600. You should also upgrade the clutch with the heavy duty GYTR clutch springs for another 100ish.
If you really want to win races though go with the stage 2 cams and the heavy duty clutch springs.
Add another $200 for misc. gaskets, sealant (Yamabond - if you don't already have it), new oil filter etc.
Bottom line. . . I would budget about $2k for a stage 1 and probably anothe $500 for a stage 2.

If your thinkin of gettin 5-10 hp out of a 686 with cam port work etc your quite a bit off. I think you gain around 25 with a craycraft 686 vs a stock raptor. Im not quoting craycrafts hp numbers just goin off what Ive read ...
