I have a 2000 Blaster and am thinking about shaving the head. Is it true that if I do I will have to start using racing gas, due to the high compression?

 

Depends on how much you shave it.

 

It depends how much you shave, and what your final psi is. At 170 psi on my LT I burn pump gas. But I don't know how much to shave on a Blaster head to achieve this psi.

 

I just want to be able to tell the most diffrence and if having to use that type of gas is a consequence then I dont mind. I need to know an exact number to tell the guy to shave it. Does anybody have any ideas?

 

If you take .020 you can still run pump gas. That will make the bottom end better and make a little more power throughout. Try and run premium all the time if you do.

 

you suggest .020 what is the range? I mean how much could you go and not let the piston hit?
