Default jets 165/170 too much for my raptor?

just wondering if i take the lid off and had these jets with a #25 pilot jet then it might run better

heres how im seeing it i take the lid off i lose the midrange power well then its too much air not enough gas
well put 165\170
and then when i take the lid off ill have enough gas for the air im getting

maybe?

Maybe....maybe not. No-one can tell you exactly what your Raptor needs for jetting. I ran 148/150 with no lid and an aftermarket exhaust using 27.5 pilots. The only problem I had was the need too lean the DJ needles one notch because of the increased turbulence from no lid. Start high on the jetting and keep an eye on the plug.

What needle? The jetting in your sig would be for a DJ kit. If you using DJ needles (which most say not to use with Mikuni mains) I would try 160/165.

You could try it with the DJ needles but you'll probably have a low end stumble that will be hard or impossible to get rid of and if they don't work put in the stock ones.
