Hi,
As the title implies I have a 97 blaster that is backfiring, I checked the compression and it is 120 PSI. I cleaned the carb, but it didn't seem to help the issue. Is there a way to adjust the timing? Any suggestions are welcomed.

i had the same problem. is it humid out? that was my problem. when it gets humid out, the air density goes down, and your air/feul mixture gets screwed up. you can go down a jet size. but be careful, if you go too low, you'll overheat and sieze your motor. good luck.

 

In cooler weather you want to go richer, not leaner.

 

to releive you- these guys are right, and it's nothing major to worry about like something getting ready to blow up. not to leave it unatended, but I'm saying it's just your jetting, weather it be the weather or temperature it's something.
