From all the pipe dynos I've seen, they all give about the same gains with just slight differences as to where the gains are obtained. My biggest concer is sound. I race in a sound tested district that might drop to 96db. What are some quiet options for a pipe on a YFZ?

 

Keep it stock!

 

I put the GYT-R exhaust on mine and it is well above the 96db limit. They do make a quiet insert for it that will meet the 96db limit. I don't know how it will affect the power output though.

 

i also have the gytr and its pretty damn loud. Ive heard one with a hmf and it sounded about the same as mine.

 

my sparks pipe blew a 109db.

 

The only pipe I've heard of that guarantees the 96db level is the FMF Q-Silencer, although it doesn't give the same gains as the open end exhausts. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] If your in a sound restriction area though, it may be your only option. I think for the little gain that you may gain its not even worth it to switch the exhaust if the sound restrictions are that severe. Leave it stock. Spend your money else where on the quad.

 

HMF w/ quiet core should meet 96db.

 

Might as well wait for MBRP to come out with their system. If it is anything like the Raptor it should fit your needs. I hope to get mine soon.

That is DAYUM loud! But where I ride (LS) they have no sound restriction and no body cares, so as long as it sounds good, I love it! I have not ever repacked my Yosh (stupid rivets, well, that and laziness), so it may be up there, but I've never done a check.
