I rode with some guy who painted his raptor purple with sparkles. The only thing he was missing was the dingle berry fringe around the fender wells. I cant tell you how he got the paint applied but it looked like it withstood some rough treatment because the guy rode it like a lunatic. I have the black and white raptor and can tell you black shows scratches and dirt. There is some aftermarket plastic that will probably cost you as much as a decent paint job. I would go that route.

Maier sells the black plastic for the Raptor along with dark blue, red, white, yellow, and silver. You can find it at rockymountainatv.com or I would see if you can buy direct from Maier.

Ihave a friend in the autobody business and he told me to paint the plastic on an atv (done right) is a tedious job! first you must prep! (scuff the plastic) then you need a flex agent so your paint doesnt crack then primer paint and clear! he told me for materials it would be around 200.00! so if you just want a color change and no custom color or graphic you would be better off just buying new plastic!

I think that the raptor front grill from maier looks really bad. Its very ugly looking, and since its all one unit you cant just use your stock grill. I have found the stock plastic many places for the front for $150, and I think the rear is around $200.

If I had to buy new plastic, I would go with Fullbore. It looks better than Maire JMO.
