There are two Polaris Scrambler 400 4x4's for sale by my house. One is a 1997 and they want 2800 for it, the other is a 99 and they are asking 2800, but will take 2300 for it. On the 99 the engine was blown, but was rebuilt with it bored over and such other wise it is all stock.
Both bikes seemed "dirty" with comestic defects noted and visible rust and dirt on the frames. Supposedly the blue book is 3500 for a 1999 scrambler acccording to the guy.
I bought my 1999 Scrambler 400 4x4 with a clutch kit, v force reeds, hsp pipe, wheel spacers, hand guards, and alloy bumper for $4,000. The bike was barely ridden and looked like it came off the showroom floor. That was 2 years ago when I purchased it and have been extremely happy with it and it is nice and fast.
I can beat 400ex's and keep up with or beat my cousins modded raptor (full exhuast, filter, and other stuff).
