Only your father can make that judgement. None of us here know you from Adam so there is no way for us to know.

I don't know of too many people that can strongarm a 600+ pound machine around. My daughter is only 16 and is not as big as this kid and she can ride our Griz as safe as the day is long. It would not be legal because of his age, but it should be the judgement of the parents, not some screwball in the Congress.

You can probably handle the Griz in most cases. You may be better off on a 400 class quad. It's impossable for us to say. Hopefully your dad can choose wisley.

I would be apprehensive about letting my kids on a quad they couldnt push off themselves in a wreck. The ergonomics need to be right for you
to handle a big bore machine. Too much power can be tempered with experience and good judgement.

The Grizzly needs a lot of body English input to keep under control at speed. Anybody with common sense can control the Grizzly at slow speeds, but if pushed it can be a handful. This is where you need the weight and strength of an adult along with seasoned riding experience to operate a machine like this in a safe manner. I’d recommend something a little smaller / lighter and without the handling quirks of the IRS Grizzly.
