Default Inflating ATV tires using CO2 cartridges ??

A couple weekends ago I knocked one of my rear tires off the bead on the trail. Luckily, I was able to get it re-seated using a hand pump, some engine oil, and a tiedown wrapped around the circumference of the tire. It took quite a while and LOTS of pumping.

I was wondering if anybody has used the little CO2 tire inflators ? Seems these would make the job easier. How many cylinders does it take to get a std rear tire (22") to say 30-40 PSI ? I know it took about 20 min of grunt work in the dez with a standard compact bike pump.

I've got a 100 mile dez race coming up and want to be able to get the job done quicker if possible if it happens again.

Thanks, Eric

I have used them, may make it a little easier to set a bead but it will take alot of them to pop it on. I would say 10 or so. 1 would barely get me up to 4 psi.

10-4 ! Thanks for the info guys !

I think using the pump to get the majority of pressure and a couple CO2s to hit it quicker at the end to seat the bead might be the way to go.

Or, the other way around??? Hit it hard at first to seat the bead, then the pump to finish it off???
