Lightbulb Sizing Rims To Tires?

I am looking at a set of 18x10-8 ATV tires for my tractor, do the 8" rims need to be 10" wide??

No, usually the rim is a little narrower than the tire. A. 8x9 rim or possibly even 8x8 should be fine.

Thanks!

If I did find a 10" wide rim would it keep the tires more 'square shaped' ?

I would worry about the bead not staying seated if the rim was as wide as a the tire. I think it should be about 2" difference but I don't know for sure.
