Then I would go with the bike you can get the cheapest from your local dealer to learn on. MX bikes values don't hold up very well because they are ridden pretty hard: Racing

If it was me I would purchase new but I can afford too. I was just at the Kawasaki dealer last night and they still have a brand new leftover 2002 KX125 that is very reasonably priced.

Something like the above would suit you starting out and it would be very fast.

I hate buying any thing used. I have had alot of bad luck with used quads and bikes. you just never know what your getting.

DieScarred,

Actually it was the other way around because I have been a dirtbike rider since 1969.

Purchased the knowsalot facility and needed work quads to get around the place.

I love my quads but I will always be faster in the woods on the dirtbike

go to www.allthingsmoto.com they can help you with anything you want to know about dirt bikes. how old are you? if your wanting to learn to ride mx and just starting out i would stick with a 2stroke. the YZ450f is a great bike but it will hurt a bigginer quick!
