Rubicon Upgrades
#1
I have an '01 Rubi and just ordered ITP tires on C-Series wheels and the Warn 424. I was going to get a performance kit that included a HMF pipe K&N filter and jet kit, but wasn't sure it was worth it. Do any of you that have a Rubicon running the HMF pipe. If so how do you like it? If any of you others are running different pipes that you think are better, let me here your story. Thanks

Hi Stomper,
I have a Big Gun utility muffler and here is my conlusions.
1. Big difference in low end power improvement.
2. About six pound lighter.
3. I have the quiet muffler and it is very loud. Three times as loud as the OEM.
4. Two years later and not riding in any mud or wet environment (mainly desert riding) and the
muffler/rivets are falling apart.
5. I am now looking for a replacement muffler. I would have already put the OEM back but I destroyed when I replaced it. I am not Happy with the BIG GUN at all.
Let me know how the HMF works out for you.

Ok I have just finished installing all the upgrades I got. Wow does the HMF exhaust sound good if you like loud because it is loud indeed. I do have a few questions about the install, anybody that has put a K&N filter in the stock air box did you leave the lid off? And about the exhaust, the heat shield that goes on the pipe before entering the muffler did you guys reinstall that sheild? With a little reshaping it might fit. Other then that everything went great, can't wait to ride this bad boy!
Thanks
Thanks
