Unhappy Rubicon Won't Shift

Hi, I just bought a second hand 2004 honda foreman rubicon 500cc and when i put it in Low ESP it seems to work fine and goes up through the gears okay, but when i put it in DRIVE ESP the display shows D1D2 (not flashing) and no gear number indicater. When i drive it it will not shift through the gears (although on a few rare occasions it has). The same is true for the automatic settings (D1 and D2), Neither of them will shift up in DRIVE but seem to work fine in LOW.
The error codes that were shown were 4 and 10 as far as i can understand.
Please help, i live in ireland and Honda dealers here are few and far between so any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Patrick

I moved this over to the Honda section and took out whatever work our spam filter did not like.

Should get a few more replies now.
