Jumpking,

Just out of curiosity, why are you going to attempt this swap?

A much more desired swap is to install the 250x motor in a 250r chassis. The reason being is because the 250r chassis is much more friendly to ride in the real rough stuff. The 250r chassis is longer, wider and has more suspension travel then the 250x chassis.

I thought that the x frame is better. Is it the other way around the r frame is better.

so what do most people race the r frame with the r motor, or the r frame with the x motor, or the x frame with the r motor.

Most people that like 2 strokes like the R motor in the R frame. If they like 4 strokes they like a X motor in the R frame because it has better geometry, and more suspension travel.

Of course its best to overlook the entire frame for cracks, but in my experience the first three places I looks are around the swingarm pivot bolt, the lower motor mounts, and the steering stem hoop on top of the frame.

Is there a way to tell for sure, if a frame is a 250r frame. If you dont want to get stuck with a 250x or some other honda frame.

What would the advantages be to using a 250x motor over just running a 250r motor? I have seen this done, but what kind of power would or could you get out of a 250x?
