purple exaust pipe oon 400ex

Default purple exaust pipe oon 400ex

why did my exaust pipe turn purple coming out right from the motour the two pipe things are purple what would cause that

what does running lean mean and when driving should i really be able to hear the motor rev it's brand new my bike

Its to much heat.... u should check it when ur riding.. if it glowing ur runing way to lean...

quit pounding on it! If it's new you MUST do the break-in procedure. Check it out it probably is running lean.

Lean : Air/Fuel ratio going to the motor is too elevated on the air side. Meaning not enough fuel mixing in with the air before going to the motor. You could try a bigger main jet in your carburator.

A leaner motor makes more power than a richer motor, but at the expense of running hotter. A too-lean ratio can burn a hole through a piston.
