I was told by the old timers in the club that a set of tire should last you around 2 years. The more riding on hard surfaces, the more wear on the tires. But it all depends on how many miles you ride a year. I would think they would last a couple of thousand miles.

here is my problem. last weekend i learned the limitations of my stock tires. i got stuck a few times and 2 of the 3 times i was stuck i know that i would have riden through it if i had some better tires. i also avoided some mud holes because i new my tires were overmatched. my machine has a locking front diff. so with the right tires it would be quite the billy goat. this got my gears turning on getting some aftermarket rubber. then i found out how much tires actually cost. i have looked at vampires and at titan 589's either way it will be $400 to get new tires on my machine. highlifter.com quoted me $365 for a set of vampires all the way around. this is for the tires and shipping. then i need to have them mounted. i had a heck of a time finding a place that will mount atv tires because they are all afraid they will bend the rims. i did find a place but they want to charge me $12 a tire for mounting. hence the $400. my question is.... is it worth it. i know the vampires will be hands over better than my stock tires but $400 is quite a bit of mney. i could put new tires on my wife's car for $400. any suggestions?

breaking the beads on ur old tires and mounting the new ones can be done at home with ease. all u have to do is get the jack that comes with a truck and put it on the tire so it just misses the rim and jack it up if it slips than take the jack out and put a tie down around the tire and than put the jack on it and jack it up u have to do it for both sides but it only takes a few minuets and its not 12 dollars a tire

My son put 2400 miles on a King Quad and still had about 75% of the original tread.

Vampires are pure mud tires. They are not the best for trail riding. Poor side hill performance and not the best in snow.

Have you looked into the Mud Runners?

The Goodyear Tracker P that comes standard on the Sportsman is also a great tire. I put over 4000 miles on one set and they still had over 60% of their original tread. They also clean out in the mud and do not "ball up"

The harder the compound the longer they will last.
