Stuck in 4wd
#1
Experienced a problem with my new Rincon on a ride yesterday. I had it in 4wd for several miles and switched back to 2wd, but the light didn't go out. I finally had to stop & switch off the ignition to get the 4wd light to go off. Any ideas on why?

After you switched it back to 2 wheel drive, did you turn the wheels? (It may help to get the light to go out.) Were you driving when you changed it out of 4 wheel drive? If so, how fast?
I had the same concern when I bought my Foreman. I had the dealership look at it and they said that it works like the other Foreman's they have. Now, I come to a complete stop to switch it. You really can't move too fast to switch it. (2 or 3mph)
I guess it just takes a little while for it to switch. It reminds me of a 1959 Jeep I used to have, if you were on a hill or something you had to play with the gears (moving back or forth) to release the tension so it would switch. You don't have to move back and forth with the quad but it still has to relieve the tension.

it really isn't good for the tranny to switch while moving, if you can don't switch while moving, it can cause serious problems, most of the time it doesn't, but I think taking 2 seconds to stop is worth it, better safe than sorry.
