Default TrailTech came through for me !

I have been having constant problems with my Torch lights on my Raptor. In conversations with TrailTech they admitted having vibration probs with their lights on the Raptors with aftermarket exhaust systems. They have been in the process of developing some anti-vibe mounts for a while and I really thought it wasnt going anywhere.

Today, I got a set of very nicely made isolated mounts from them to replace the mounts I got originally. They sent them at no cost to me and hopefully it fixes my problem.

Hats off to a company who is concerned with having a quality product and satisfied customers !

Isn't that the truth!! These places seem to be getting more few and further between. I will always support a co. with better customer service over a less expensive price!

Glad you got something to help.

Fisher, I had the same problems with my TrailTechs. They did not last through the first weekend at Glamis. They sent me the new mounts and some new bulb connectors that do not use a set screw on the bulb like the originals. After replacing the parts, I went on a 4 day trip to Glamis and didn't have a single problem. I think you will be very happy with the new mounts!

Default TrailTech came through for me !

Ive been having problems with one light as well, my bar mounted flood light keeps loosening and causes a fuse to blow. Here is what I wrote them:

I've had a handlebar mounted kit for 4 weeks now and have had problems with
one light since the first week. First, one screw would loosen and the wire
would come out, after tightening the screw, the solder broke so I had to
strip the wire and install again. That worked fine for a couple of trail
rides until the same light loosened up again and caused a fuse to blow on my
quad which left me stranded 2 miles from my home. I was lucky and got a ride
home, fixed the light and called it a day. Now today, I went riding again
and the same light was flickering, I came home and removed the "bezel" that
holds the light in place and the lamp fell right off, the pins coming out
from the lamp had broken off and little pieces of glass are inside the lamp
and one of the screws had fallen off. Now I don't know what else to do, its
just that one lamp that is giving me trouble. Please help if you have any
suggestions. Im some what disappointed since I did pay a hefty amount for
these lights only to be haunted with problems and headaches. Thank you for
your time.

Here is their response:

Hello Eddie,

Raptor's have more issues with vibration than any other quad, particularly
Raptor's with performance mods (e.g. jet kit, aftermarket pipe).

We have multiple option available to resolve the problem. Since you're
consistently having problems with just one light, we can replace it
outright. We may also want to make sure you are using our vibration
isolated posts and light wing on the set. This entails providing you with a
different light bracket and lower lights posts.

If the problems continue even with vibration isolated parts, we may need to
downgrade your system to 35 watt lights and a smaller light housing that has
large rubber isolators inside the lamp housing to cushion the lamps.

Switching you to HID lights is another option, but we would need to charge
you the difference between halogen and HID lights (HID is double the price
of halogen). HID lights are cool because you can run them in conjuction
with the stock lights on the stock stator (their power draw is quite low).

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Best Regards,

Kelly

Looks like they are willing to work with me and help me out, they might even take back my current setup and let me upgrade to HIDs and just pay the difference. I sure hope I can fix this soon since I really do like my lights, just that they arent holding up. I wonder why they didnt work on a modified quad to test their product, almost no one leaves a quad stock and people do jump, ride hard and so forth.....wonder why they didnt think of that before offering a kit for the Raptor.

mine are mounted on the handle bars. I just used the regular technical support email. What problems are you having? Are you running a spot and a flood? I found some replacement lamps at Home Depot for $5 so I might try them out and see if the lamp itself was the problem.

The bulbs can be found at Home Depot !! $4.97 each and EXACTLY what ya need. Phillips makes Spots (10 degree beam) and Floods (36 degree beams) and they are used for track lighting and such. 50 Watt/12 V. I buy extras and keep them at camp.

The new anti-vibe mounts they sent me are for the stock location.

See ya, Eric
