TrailTech came through for me !

When you talk to them mention the new anti-vibe mounts and the other style of bulb connectors. I had lot's of problems with the set screws coming loose. The new connectors have the wires permanently attached and the bulb contacts just slide in to some stiff spring loaded contacts. Much better design in my opinion. The combination of the new connectors and the isolated mounts seem to have resolved all of my issues. My lights are on the handlebar mount, but apparently they have anti-vibe mounts for the stock location as well.

Has anyone tried the Lazer Star lights? Are they better, worse, the same? After putting new mounts on the Trail Techs are you still having any problems? I'm was looking at getting these lights but after reading this thread I may wait a while.

Got this email today:
Eddie,
HID lights are a little more than double the price of halogens($99.95 each).
If you returned both halogen lights for full credit of $89.90, the HIDs
would cost you $110. A wiring harness and switch to install the HIDs off
your key switch power lead is $9.95. We will also need to send you a
vibration isolated light bracket at no charge.
If we just upgrade you to the vibration isolated parts (and replace the
defective lights), you will still be able to run the 50 watt lights. If you
continue to have problems, though, I will recommend the downgrade.
Best Regards,
Kelly

Should I just upgrade to HIDs? I think that would get rid of my problem and I would have better lighting.

As was proven at 12 Hrs of America, the HID's are the hot ticket. If Kelly and Geoff are offering such a gracious deal to you, I'd take it. Top notch gear, and people backing it. Candlepower = Speed.
