I own both, if you want reverse get the Z400. I think for the average rider the Z400 is a better ride. Liquid cooled and reverse...

Go with the 400EX if you are learing to ride you will more than likley wreck a few times. The Honda is built alot stronger and the parts cost alot less. About three times less. Go to partsfish.com look up the price of fenders, steering stems and a/arms. Suzuki prices will scare you. Liquid cooling is not better for trail riding just more to go wrong.

Z has better top end and is better for drags. Throw a turn and a jump in and the EX smokes it. Plus the like the guy above me said, they are alot tougher and more reliable. And when you start bouncing it off trees and playing lawn dart with it learning to jump, the parts are cheaper.

The 400ex is the best all around Quad there is. I have a "03'' 400ex and I have a whitebrothers rev box, whitebrothers R4 exhaust and my fiance is buying me a white brothers stage1 cam for my birthday in DEC. I plan on getting the white brothers graphics and seat cover also Theres nothing like hitting sandlake and knowing you can keep up with a banshee and your point about liquid cooled bikes you can buy a oversized oil tank and a larger oil cooler for cheaper than you can a new radiator

i cant say too much about durability on a 400ex, i bought mine a month ago for $1300 and it had the p1ss beat out of it: cracked frame, almost blown shocks, cracked plastic, worn swingarm and steering stem bearings, worn out brake pads, worn out bore, rod knock, blown second gear, worn out cam, busted headligths, bent up bars, bent steering stem, etc... right now the quad is apart and im replaceing and fixing everything worn out or damaged and im also upgrading alot of things. i drove the quad for about 3 weeks in that condition and the only thing i personally broke was a clutch cable so i cant really say anything about tha durability yet.
