changing the rod will be needed. splitting the case for this will also be needed. you will probally need work to the crank too. it will cost a lot but it should be fast. personally, i don't think the new 450 is going to be that fast. just my opinion. its a honda, its not going to do 100 or anything. it will handle and be reliable. i assume you will need a lot less work than a 460 to beat the new bike. just my opinion, they are not out yet!!

I have had experiance racing a LRD460 at Florence, Oregon and to tell you the honest truth I wasnt very Impressed. My piped jetted and geared raptor beat it by about 2 bikes and I was assuming Id get beat pretty good. I think you could make a 416 run better or very close to what they do but thats just my opinion.

the piston size on a 416 is 87mm. i would recommend a je or ross 10.8 comression piston. with this, you will still be able to run on pump gas. if you want to run race fuel, you can go to a higher compression. i run a 406 (86mm piston) with a stage 2 cam and it runs great. you won't be disappointed. i wasn't sure what to expect. it definately made more of a difference than my pipe, filter, and jetting. no, it won't smoke banshees and other larger cc quads, but it will run good and my reliability has been great.

Yellow426 if you want a fast 400ex send it to KENZ in mesa,az. My bike will outrun alot of raptors with a 686 kit in it and it totally smokes piped bikes of all sizes including banshees and yfz 450's.

I have a feeling theres more going on here than a piston, sleeve and some gaskets LMAO
