Turbo Charger on a scrammy 500?
#1
My aunt has a ford probe that she is going to junk; the probe has a complete working turbo charger... She said I could take anything off I wanted before she junks it. I was thinking of getting the turbo charger off it and putting it on my scrammy! Has anyone done this or heard of this being done? And if I do put it on would the bottom end hold out?
Thanks,
TrailRider
P.S It would be bad a$$

Well, sounds like a good winter project to me Aerocharger use to make a turbo for the scrammy. So I would think that the bottom end would hold up. But im not to sure. I don't even know what all would go into makeing a turbo work on it. You could try and talk to the guys at Aerocharger or Hyper Tech (they make turbos for quads) But I would definately grab that turbo, and the other parts that go with it. If anything you could always Ebay them!

My only concern would be the size of the turbo. I would think that most all automotive apps would be way to big. The turbo works off of exhaust volume and there is a significant diffrence in volume from a single cyl 500cc to a 4 cyl 2.0 litre. It would work but wouldn't make boost until redline on the scrammy.
I'm with BBS Ebay them and use the money for upgrades.

Trailrider, maybe you can get ahold of ScoobyDFW on the Bomb forum. He has a DS that he built that has a Garret T4 turbo and EFI. I believe that he did his own R&D on it too. He may be able to point you in the right direction
