I do not own a Rubicon, but I have watched one in action today. It,s impressive, but when you are in D1 and have it buried so that the tires can't rotate the transmission lets out a noise that sounds like someone pulling on a cats tail. A simple twist of the **** to D2 or ESP will stop the noise.

Hmmmmmmm?

How do you get it into a postion where the wheels won't turn? Is there that much slippage in the transmission?

D1 is the speed mode of the transmission and thus I believe it to have a different set of ports in the hydraulic motor thus allowing a greater amount of fluid passage.

On hydulic drive tractors there is a wining sound from the pressure relief when the machine is under to much load.

You can bet the Honda engineers were aware of pressure release.

It will be interesting to see the post from the guys that do own the Rubicon over the next few months.
