Why do ya got to by so much for it like extened A arms and Axle. And then all the after market Spit.
I mean what do ya do with all the stock parts You end up replacing?

There has been only 1 factory MX race quad. It was the Cannondale Moto.

Yamaha and Honda - race ready my Azz....

 

Moto only. Gas Gas 300 / 450 with wheel change and the extras taken off.

 

Blaze if you are a cross country guy.

 

Themez- lol, the perfect quad that nobody bought. Wish they could have stuck around a little longer. Would have been nice to see the yamaha, honda and the cannon go at it. Cannon was 3 years to early and $$ short.

There is quite a bit of racing besides MX. In fact, I'd venture to say that ATV cross country racing has more participants than ATV MX racing.

It's also interesting that since the 450R is not a "race quad" by your standards that it somehow managed to overall the Baja in basically stock form.

 

Basically stock form if you don't look at the details it takes to get a quad race ready.

Beadlocks? Tether? Nerfs? Tires? Those are just off the top of my head that I bet he Honda had that wasn't factory.

No matter what, it still stand that there have been 2 race ready quads. Cannondale Blaze and Cannondale Moto.

Too bad they didn't stick around. They still have better technology than anything out there, and the design in 3/4 years old now.

You'll still see the Yamaha, Honda, and Cannon go at it. Trust me from what I've seen the Cannon owners really have no fear approaching that. They were doing pretty darn well on the Honda and Yamaha hybrids the past 3 years and these factory made "race" machines aren't too scary lookin with that in mind.

We shall see how it goes.

I still think someone else should make a factory race quad then people wouldn't biatch and moan about how much the Cannons were. The details are expensive.

 

I think the point Gabe was trying to make in saying 'basically stock form' was that the 450R that won the overall at Baja was a stock frame, stock shocks and stock a-arms. I don't think anybody is arguing that the 450R is as race-ready as a Moto or Blaze for their respective racing types. Being a former Cannondale owner I can say they are great quads but Cannondale's formula was all wrong. As race ready as the Blaze and Moto were owners were still pulling the shocks, a-arms and exhausts off to replace with parts of their personal preference. They should've just sold the Cannibal and then offered a line of factory "aftermarket" parts much like GYT-R and HRC. This would've reduced CDale's costs dramatically.
