450R race quad my ***!
The point was that the Honda is not MX ready and hence not a race ready quad as the original poster was looking for. His point was how many dollars in extras it takes to get you there. I said a Moto was there and thats why they were so expensive. Peope getting the YFZ or TRX ready for MX this coming season will likely have 10-12k in them easy - Moto price range. That was all I was saying, and I think that was the point of the original post. They flaunt 'race ready' when it takes a lot to get them there.

I would not compare the moto to a 450r. It is more comparable to the cannibal which ironically were almost the same price but the honda still wouldnt have efi ,hydraulic clutch ,aluminum frame, electric start,hd anti vibration steering stem, kind of makes ya wonder how overpriced the jap quads really are.

Frist of all there is no comparing the cfr450 to the cannondales. The dale was meant to race on a closed groomed track and thats it. It dose not shine anywhere else it is not among the top in hill shooting' draging ' dunning' trail riding'desert racing'. And lacks in many areas. Which would require moding to get it to peak in any of these. So i do get tired of hearing it was the frist and only race built quad "it was not" it did not come out before the the ds this was the frist out of the box ready to rumble quad and it did dominate its coarses unlike the dale??? So yes the dale is a nice quad but by no means the greatest quad ever built . And if your on a dale you better bring a lunch when coming to a cfr450 fight. Because this is going to take awhile
Now back to the subject Chavo the race ready normaly dose not mean it has nothing but the best racing components on it. It normaly means it can preform on the track with out totaly embarrasing ones self there are alway people who need more than average. And im sure there will be plenty of after market mods avalible for this quad

which "the dale " are we refering to
Mine seems to love dragging, hillclimbing, duning, and especially trailriding with the milder bottom end of the speed map.
There is one thing though ,it really doesnt like to go slow, 1st gear is a little to high for putting and it tends to run hot when driven slow but I ride WFO on trails where the foot of suspension travel and wide wheelbase come in handy.
I have been to a couple of mx races this year and most all the motos there were stock and some were modified cannibals.
