ATC Honda Big Red 200ES
#1
I bought a old big red from a friend and started working on it as a project. The person i bought it from was not sure of the exact model but a man at a Honda store said it was probably a Big Red 200ES. Can anyone tell me what parts from other models will fit this. Having problems finds parts for it. I also can not get it to run. I replaced the gaskets in the top end of the engine and put a new carb . on it. It would run for a minute maybe before and after i put in the gaskets and ran for about a minute with the old carb. With the old carb if i sprayed starter fluid in it then it would crank up until it used up the starter fluid. I haven't had time to mess with the new carb. Now it won't crank at all now. Can anyone help me with this problem?

make sure you have spark, then clean the carb by soaking it for an hour, and try it again. you should be able to find a VIN number to identify the machine somewhere on the quad, on my sons mojave i found it under the front hood. and make sure you have oil in it.

the VIN for a 200ES is on the front... um... fork/handle bar support? (im not sure what you call, its the part of the frame that holds the whole steering assembly). its just a little mettle tag rivited to the frame

Maybe it's not getting enough gas from the tank. Try cleaning it out and be sure to clean the filter screen that is in the shut off valve. If that screen is clogged it will probably idle but it will die whan you give it any throtle.

if its shaft drive, has reverse, and a 200, then its an 84. if its chain drive, with no reverse then its an 82-83. the 85-87 big reds were 250's with rear suspension. partsfish.com has trike parts.

Make sure the kill switch on the handle bars is in the on position or the switch is working properly. The model number is on the frame where it joins the forks. The ES means electric start.
