DID YOU FORGET TO TURN YOUR GAS OFF AFTER YOU RODE IT . OUR PRAIRIES DO THE SAME THING IF WE LEAVE OUR GAS ON . NOT EVERYTIME JUST EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. CHOKE SPRINGS STICK, AND YOU ENGINE COOLING COUSES A VACUM ON YOUR CARB AND SUCKS THE GAS RIGHT IN THE CASE. JUST CHANGE YOUR OIL AND FILTER AND YOU WILL BE FINE . JUST REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR GAS OFF AFTER YOU PUT IT UP OR TRANSPORT ITTRAILRIDE

well it seems that it is a bigger problem then that. My quad wont stay idleing. and when i adjust it open it revs really high and if i give it a touch of gas it dies i dunno what the problem is???? It kinda souns like it is leaking out of the head ares. if i cant get it figured out then i wil have to take it to someone. but i dont want to do that cost to much money. any ideas will be helpful.

It starts easily 95% of the time sometimes i have to use the decompressor but that is not often. I does smoke a bit and it smells gassy leaks a bit of oil from the head area too i noticed.

I had the same trouble with a Yamaha that I had. The float always stuck enough that the carb would fill with gas and then run into the cylinder. Try cleaning the carb and make sure that any pins etc. that hold the float in position are in their proper place. I could tell when it started to stick because I could not give it any throttle without it stalling or sputtering alot. I would have to tap the bowl with a screwdriver handel if I was on the trail and it started to act up. I broke the fuel shut off handle and tapping the bowl after a ride would usually prevent any gas from entering the cylinder.
Good luck.
Good luck.
