truth to high performance 99 trailblazer
#1
I am concidering puting a rcr stage 1 kit on my 99 trailblazer 250 but i am hearing that it might not be very reliable for trail riding.I do not race but would like more power out of the hole. Is there any truth to this? I dont want to have to do a lot of adjustments all the time. I dont want my buddys 90 2x4 kikin my but.

The tb 250 is a very reliable quad, I know guy that rides were I do, that has a tb 250 with the RCR stage 1 and he loves it, It wont take my scrammy 500 but it holds its own.. From what he has told me he it never fails him, he just does his regular maintenance ...It is still very reliable with the kit...
You will like it, it really wakes up the tb and it sounds very nice too...
Get ready for wheelies....
Since its a 99 i dont know if you have rebuilt the top end yet, but stock polaris pistons will break their cast, I would get a wiseco piston...
Hope this helps...

Yeah i would do it just to be safe, Humm Well you need to see if it has been rebuilt before then you see how bad its worn then you know how much bigger you need to go, When you call Rick for your RCR kit tell him that you want to rebuild the top end he will set you up.. If you want even more power since you have to send the jug to rick to be bored, He could also mill the head and port it that helps too..

I have a 2000 tb highly moded and have to this date never had a problem. All I do is trail ride and hillclimb. If you are just going with the stage 1 kit then you should be safe with the stock piston. Once you start to port, bore, and mill then you need a wiseco piston. Good Luck!!!

I haven't had any personal experience with bad pistons from Polaris. I have not actually heard of anyone having it either. I'm not saying anybody else is wrong, but I've only heard of them being bad. If you do a compression check and have good compression I would not worry about it. Now if you plan on racing a new piston is surely in order.

I have seen 2 strokes of other types do it, but no Polaris atvs. I've seen water crafts, dirt bikes, sleds, boat motors etc all busted, cracked, or holes burned in the tops. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just have not seen one or actually heard of someone who had one from Polaris do it. Even on the forum. I have not been on long, figure if it was a problem there would be lots of posts.
