Default trail boss 1992 - can 2 cycle oiler be disconnected?

Can the automatic oiler be disconnected and mix the oil manualy. It is a trial boss 350L 92 model and I'm afraid that the oiler may stop working and ruin the engine. Someone told me to do this. Can anyone help?

If it's been working OK for 11 years, would you really want to mess with it? They are like the 400 models and are quite dependable. Just check the adjustment on it and go on. Ohh........ and fill the oil tank up.
