Vinson questions??
#1
Hello, I in the market for a new atv. I have been looking for about six months. I have almost decided on the Vinson. I have called a dealer that said that he has several 2003 left over and he quoted me a price of $5149.00 for a yellow auto Vinson. I have always been a die hard Honda guy but after reading all of the reviews on this quad I think that I will be buying one Saturday. I live on a farm and my family owns about 7000 acres and we run about 500 head of cattle on the farms. I will be using this quad for all kinds of work and a lot of play. My question is the vinson the quad that can handle the work, like pulling heavy loads, for what I read on this board is that it can handle anything I can throw at it. I'm really needing to know what you guys, the experts, think of this quad.
thanks in advance for all of the replies they are greatly appreciated!

I plow snow with mine in the winter and haven't had any problems. Both of my Vinsons have about 2000 mi. each on them without a problem. I use my Vinson primarily for recreational riding in the mountains. I raced it once too. I'm of the opinion that you get all the reliability of a Honda in a Suzuki for hundreds of dollars less. I just changed the belts in both because I had bought belts and was following the owner's manual recommendation. Truth is, the belts I removed were like new after 2000 mi. I'm keeping them as spares. From the wear I saw on the belts after 2000 mi., they probably would have lasted another 2000 mi.
I think the Vinson is the best 500 cc ATV out there. If you get an auto-clutch 5 speed, the acceleration is supposed to be so much better than the automatic. But my automatics are pretty quick too. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong. And the price your dealer quoted is great. I paid $5800 for each of mine.
Good luck,
Mark

I love mine. It hasent wimpered once and iv put it through some pretty rough crap. As far as work goes it is unstoppable. I would go with the manual though, much more fun and also a better worker. I'v hauled utility trailers full of fire wood out of the woods, power boats out of the lake, deer out of the woods. The machine is only limited by the amout of traction avalible. I dont know if you get much snow there but a few wekends ago I was blowing through up to 3 feet of wet heavy snow it was a blast. Any way you go you wont be disapionted with the vinson.
